Sean Payton Responds To Saints Signing Antonio Brown

Sean Payton responded to the Saints signing Antonio Brown during a recent interview.

New Orleans made headlines early Friday morning when it was revealed that the team hosted Brown for a special workout.

Brown posted a video on social media revealing the workout, but ultimately deleted it after the fact.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter was still able to confirm that the workout did in fact occur.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Payton was asked about the decision to potentially bring Brown on board.

Specifically, Payton was pressed on whether Brown would even be able to play, given his questionable status with the league right now.

“Good question,” Payton replied.

“That’s the information we’ve got to get from the league if we were going to go down that road.”

According to the Saints head coach, the team worked out six different receives on Friday morning – not just Brown.

Clearly New Orleans is looking to bolster wide receiver depth heading into the postseason.

Brown is currently being investigated by the NFL over sexual assault allegations that came to light in September. It remains to be seen how the league would respond to a team signing him before the investigation is completed.
