Seahawks Issue Surprising Jadeveon Clowney Health Update
The Seahawks issued a surprising Jadeveon Clowney health update on Thursday.
Clowney, 26, was Seattle’s biggest trade acquisition this year. He was supposed to seriously bolster the team’s defense and help them secure the NFC West championship.
Unfortunately, Clowney has been dealing with a persistent core muscle injury and has missed three out of the Seahawks’ last five games.
Jadeveon Clowney said there’s no doubt he’s playing this Sunday against the 49ers. Huge for the Seahawks.

Clowney’s injury originally occurred back in Seattle’s Week 10 showdown against the San Francisco 49ers. His team ultimately won the game and he had a stellar day with five tackles, a sack and forced fumble – but it came at a price.
Seeing as Clowney missed both Week 15 and Week 16, many wondered if he would play in the Seahawks’ big game against San Francisco this week.
According to team head coach Pete Carroll, the answer appears to be yes.
Carroll announced on Thursday that Clowney had returned to practice this week and will likely play against the Niners, barring some sort of setback.
So far this season Clowney has recorded 30 tackles, three sacks, a pick, four forced fumbles and one defensive touchdown.
Seattle will host San Francisco on Sunday Night Football, and the stakes are going to be high. With a win, the Seahawks can secure the No. 3 seed in the NFC and homefield advantage.
