Sasha Banks, Sammy Guevara Rape Comment Audio (Video)
Sammy Guevara, a pro wrestler for AEW, was recorded in a clip saying that he wanted to rape WWE superstar Sasha Banks.
The clip in question is from 2016.
The audio of Guevara resurfaced on Sunday night after he engaged Banks in a seemingly playful Twitter spat.
The spat originally started with Banks poking fun at Chris Jericho over beating him in the ratings.
Jericho responded, pointing out that while Banks’ assessment of the situation was partially accurate, he still beat her in the 18-49 demo.
Still, Jericho congratulated Banks.
From there, Guevara jumped into the mix and suggested that Banks looked like fellow wrestler Ricochet.
That is when fans dug up the old clip of Guevara’s comments about Banks.
“Bro…Sasha Banks,” he could be heard saying in the clip.
“My God…when I was at the WWE the other week I wanted to go f*cking rape that woman.”
As of Monday morning, AEW has yet to comment on the situation. An official statement should presumably come out at some point today.
It will be interesting to see just how strong of a stance the promotion ultimately opts to take.
