Sadio Mane Makes Surprising Apology

Sadio Mane made a surprising apology this week.

The talented Liverpool winger issued a formal apology to RB Salzburg this week after beating Salzburg 2-0 away from home at Stadion Salzburg in Group E on Tuesday evening.

While Mane was obviously happy to help his current team progress, he wished that it did not come at the expense of his former club.

Mane finished the game with two shots on target, three essential passes and a pass accuracy of 78.6 percent.

On top of that Mane also finished with two headers and 73 touches.

Mane’s cross to Naby Keita in the 57th minute ultimately was what put Liverpool in the lead.

Mane was on RB Salzburg from 2012 to 2014 before moving to Southhampton.

“I think it was a really really tough game today,” Mane said of the outing.

“For sure we expected that and we were better in the second half.

“We create many chances and we scored. Naby scored a wonderful goal.”

Overall, Mane was just happy to help his club advance.

“It’s always nice to come back here because it’s where it all started for me.

“And I’m really grateful for this club and the fans and as well the people here. Sorry guys, but this is football and we have to do it.”

Liverpool captured the Champions League last season. Next up the club will take on Watford at Anfield in the Premier League against whom they are considered heavy favorites.

Presently Liverpool is eight points clear of second place-ranked Leicester City at the top of the league.
