Rockies Trading Nolan Arenado To Yankees?

Are the Rockies trading Nolan Arenado to the Yankees?

Last week, Colorado management came out and insisted that Arenado would not be dealt before Spring Training.

This came on the heels of the team spending what felt like the entire offseason attempting to move the talented third baseman.

Naturally Arenado was not happy about his latest development, and he made his feelings clear in multiple interviews.

Well, fortunately for him, it looks like the Rockies are still very open to moving him.

According to one baseball insider, Arenado getting traded is “inevitable” at this point.

“A Nolan Arenado trade is inevitable,” tweeted out Jim Bowden on Monday.

The Rockies opted to dangle Arenado in trade talks just one year after signing him to an eight-year, $260 million deal.

The Los Angeles Dodgers, St. Louis Cardinals, Texas Rangers, Washington Nationals, Chicago Cubs, Houston Astros and Atlanta Braves have all been linked to Arenado in some capacity in recent weeks.

One interesting name that sprung up according to Bowden is the Yankees.

While they obviously are not as likely to get something done with Colorado as Texas or St. Louis, just because of the assets each organization brings to the table, the Yankees are still a viable contender.

At this point, it is clear that Arenado is getting moved sooner rather than later. It is not a matter of if – just when.
