Alex Rodriguez is an undeniable baseball legend who has been able to maintain his relevance even after retiring from the game.
Because of that, fans tend to keep up with his various happenings – both on and off the field.
This week, word emerged that Rodriguez and his girlfriend, Kathryne Padgett, had broken up.
It didn’t take long for reports about the cause to come out.
According to Page Six, it all came down to Rodriguez’s decision to focus “on his family and his businesses.” That said, by all accounts Rodriguez and Padgett are “super tight. It’s all good.”
Moreover, the pair’s relationship has been described as them being “good friends.”
There was a period of time this summer where it felt like Rodriguez and Padgett were going viral nonstop. Between their provocative vacation photos, behavior at games and constant PDA – it was one thing after another.
Plus, Padgett’s Isntagram offerings were also a big hit.

Rodriguez is generally pretty open about why his relationships fail. He was quite honest when the real reason for his breakup with Jennifer Lopez emerged. He was also fairly blunt about his feelings about her recent marriage to Ben Affleck.
And although it’s obviously a different sort of relationship, he was also quick to acknowledge the precise moment things went wrong with his former New York Yankees teammate, Derek Jeter.
In that respect, Rodriguez not keeping the reason for his breakup with Padgett close to the chest fits the pattern he has established since retiring from the game.

It will be interesting to see where Rodriguez goes from here.
Will he remain single? Will he immediately hop into yet another relationship? Or is reconciliation in the cards for him and Padgett?
