Real Madrid Star Returns As Barcelona Struggles

A Real Madrid star returns as Barcelona struggles to keep up.

Heading into this weekend’s home match against Celta Vigo, Real Madrid is welcoming back one of its most expensive assets.

At the same time, Barcelona is learning to get used to playing without one of the priciest members of their club.

One hundred and nine million dollar man Eden Hazard is set to come back. Thus far, Real has not gotten a great return on investment. The club hopes that will change soon.

Hazard’s year began with a nagging hamstring injury that slowed him down. After that, he broke a bone I his foot against Paris Saint-German in a Champions league match in November.

That injury has kept Hazard out for tree months.

This coming week, the Belgian star is expected to be on the bench against Celta.

Last week, Celta earned their first victory in six tries. Real, meanwhile, has racked off five straight victories and arguably the best team in the league.

Obviously Celta does not pose much of a threat to hazard or Real Madrid, but it is still a game worth paying attention to. The same could be said for Levante, who is on the agenda for next weekend.

Real Madrid’s next big test will come on Feb. 26, when they have to play Manchester City in the first leg of their Champion’s League battle.

It will ultimately be interesting to see how Zinedine Zidane’s side will play.

Barcelona, meanwhile, finds itself down by three points behind Real Madrid.

A match-up against Getafe looms, with the latter club winning four consecutive games to get to third place. A victory over Barcelona can reduce Barcelona’s lead to four points.

One week ago, in a match versus Real Betris, Lionel Messi assisted on three goals. Midfielders Frenkie de Jong and Sergio Busquets, as well as defender Clement Lenglet were all beneficiaries.
