Raiders Issue Surprising Josh Jacobs Injury Update

The Raiders issued a surprising Josh Jacobs injury update today.

After he missed last weekend’s game due to a shoulder injury, many people wondered whether Jacobs would be available for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Last week, the Raiders fell to the Tennessee Titans 42-21.

Jacobs’ importance to Oakland’s offense is self-explanatory. At this point the former Alabama standout is a consensus pick for Offensive Rookie of the Year and is the first rookie in team history to rush for more than 1,000 yards.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Jacobs underwent an MRI on his shoulder and the scans came out looking good.

“Raiders RB Josh Jacobs underwent an MRI on his ailing shoulder after not playing on Sunday,” he tweeted.

“But the scans checked out very positively, sources say, and Jacobs is expected to return to the field this week. Barring a setback, should be just a one-week absence.”

That means barring some sort of unexpected setback this week, Jacobs should play against Jacksonville.

The Raiders’ long shot bid at a Wild Card spot more or less died last week versus Tennessee, but it will still be nice for all involved to get their young star back in the fold.
