Pelicans Announce Unexpected Zion Williamson Injury

The Pelicans announced an unexpected Zion Williamson injury update this week.

New Orleans selected Williamson with the first overall selection in the 2019 NBA Draft.

After a dominant preseason, he got hurt and was forced to sit out until late January.

Williamson finally made his return a month ago and has played really well, with his team ultimately winning three out of their last five outings.

Unfortunately, it appears that Williamson is hurt again.

According to Will Guillory, Williamson is listed as “questionable” for the Pelicans’ Friday night showdown versus the Chicago Bulls.

Up to this point Williamson had been averaging 19.6 points and 8 rebounds per outing. In his initial return game, he averaged 22 points on four-of-four shooting from behind the arc.

It remains to be seen when Williamson will ultimately return to the lineup.
