Paul Finebaum Has Harsh Words for Nick Saban, Alabama

Paul Finebaum has harsh words for Nick Saban and Alabama after their loss to Auburn.

Coming into this season the Crimson Tide were widely considered either the best or second best team in the nation.

Despite that, Alabama stumbled in its first real test of the year against LSU. Even with the loss, though, some suggested they could still make the College Football Playoff if they won out.

Win out they did not.

On Saturday Alabama fell to Auburn in heartbreaking fashion.

After the fact, Finebaum had some harsh words for the losing side.

“Nick Saban is the greatest coach of all time, but he has not delivered this year,” he said.

“When they lost by 28 points, he promised the Alabama factor would be back. I haven’t seen it, and you think about all the things that have gone wrong.

“The penalties in this game were massive. You talk about 13 penalties and five false starts,” he continued.

“You also think about what happens next to this team. I mean, this is a program that lost in major games now giving up 34, 44, 46 and 48 against the last four top 20 teams.

“You also think about Nick Saban. He’s lost two out of three to Gus Malzahn. He’s lost two out of three to Dabo Swinney. The dynasty isn’t dead, but the window is closing.”

Is the Alabama window really closing? We’ll find out for sure over the next few years.

  1. I’ve been a Bama fan all my life and my message is simple !!
Saban, you are allowing ur offensive and defensive coordinators to make crucial calls when I think it should be ur decision !!
This is ur team not thers..
My last thought is, ur not showing that killer instinct that u displayed over the course of the yrs.
