Patrick Beverley’s Brutal Russell Westbrook Tweet Goes Viral
Patrick Beverley has never been one to bite his tongue. And in the face of the Los Angeles Lakers’ struggles this season, he couldn’t help but take a little shot at a former rival.
It is something of an open secret at this point that Russell Westbrook has been an abject disaster for LA. Both on the court and off it – it has just been one headache after another.
On Thursday, Beverley sent out a short – but scathing – message regarding Westbrook’s woes.
It largely speaks for itself:
I remember when somebody said all I do is run around and I trick y’all 😂 well my boy is The Real Magician this year.

Yikes.
You will recall, back in 2019, Westbrook offered a brutal assessment of Beverley where he suggested that the defensive stopper’s reputation exceeded his actual skills.
Russell Westbrook: “Pat Bev trick y’all, man, like he playing defense. He don’t guard nobody, man. He just running around, doing nothing.” Made sure to note that James Harden scored 47 tonight.

“Pat Bev trick y’all man, like he play defense. He don’t guard nobody man. He just running around doing nothing. As you seen what happened. 47.”

Clearly the shot stung and has stuck with Beverley ever since. Now it’s his turn to fire back.
Beverley and Westbrook have actually been beefing since 2013, when the former tried to steal the ball from the latter as he was going to the sideline to call timeout. Westbrook tore his lateral meniscus in his right knee and was forced to sit the remainder of that year’s playoffs.
In the seasons since, the pair has enjoyed some colorful exchanges:
Beverley is never one to bite his tongue. Whether he is offering an abrupt 4-word response to getting traded twice in three days or revealing the hardest player in the NBA to guard – he always keeps it real.

It was just more of the same this week.
Not great for Westbrook’s ego, but very on brand if fans really want to be honest about it.
