Patrick Beverley Gets Brutally Honest On Kawhi Leonard Relationship

When the Los Angeles Clippers added Kawhi Leonard and Paul George a few years back, Patrick Beverley famously proclaimed that they would go on to rule the NBA together.

In the seasons that followed not only did the Clippers fail to actually dominate the league, but Beverley was also forced out and went on to play for multiple other teams.

These days, Beverley is leading the Los Angeles Lakers’ defensive effort with mixed results.

During a recent appearance on his Barstool Sports podcast, Beverley shined a light on what his relationship with Leonard was currently like.

“It’s a lifetime relationship built off the passion and love of the game of basketball,” Beverley. “That’s it.”

He then shared the origin story of his friendship with Leonard.

“I was in San Diego, me and the homies, with his homies, we would just be drillin’,” Beverley said. “Just getting lost in the work type s–t. Like, therapeutic type s–t. So, we caught a vibe, and that’s been our vibe since then.

“It’s a lifetime relationship built off the passion and love of the game of basketball.”

Beverley obviously marches to the beat of his own drum. The same can be said for Leonard.

Which probably explains their friendship.

One of these two buddies will inevitably be a serious contender for an NBA championship in 2022-23. Most likely, it won’t be Beverley.

Will Leonard finally be able to deliver the championship this season that many expected would come when he first arrived to Los Angeles?

An answer one way or the other should present itself in just a few months.
