Controversial dating and social media personality Kevin Samuels died this week at the age of 57.

Medical personnel was called to Samuels’ home in Georgia on Thursday amid reports of a “person injured.”

When they arrived, they found Samuels on the floor unresponsive.

He was taken to a nearby hospital but ultimately ended up passing away.

According to TMZ, a police report from the incident stated that officials spoke to a woman that Samuels had met the night before and spent the night with him in Atlanta.

“The woman — who is a nurse — said Kevin started to complain of chest pains on Thursday morning, and she tried to help him,” it noted.

“She told cops he fell on top of her, so she called 911 and requested a defibrillator from the front desk of the apartment complex.”

The woman in question was identified as Ortencia Alcantara by BSO.com. In addition to identifying her by name, the publication also provided some photos of her pulled from her now-private social media accounts:

Samuel was a deeply polarizing online personality. He boasted more than 1.4 million followers on Youtube and frequently went viral for his provocative views.

His highly-scrutinized “average at best” video has accrued more than 2.7 million views to date.

It goes without saying that Samuels’ take that unmarried women over 35 are “leftovers” rubbed some the wrong way. Not unlike Cam Newton’s purported role in the break-up of Travis Kelce and his girl.

In the coming days and weeks, more information will undoubtedly emerge about Samuels’ passing and what led up to it.

In the meantime, social media will continue to do what it does best – scrutinize this incident with minimal available information.

Stuff like this definitely serves to put matters into perspective, though.

For example, what Big Sean stands accused of doing is bad. There is no denying that.

But in the grand scheme of life and death?

Hardly a blip on the radar.
