Olivia Dunne’s Rival Sydney Smith Causes Stir With Wild Video

Olivia Dunne’s rival, Southern Connecticut State gymnast Sydney Smith, caused something of a stir with her wild video this week.

At this point it’s a known fact that Dunne is one of the most financially successful collegiate athletes around today.

As a result of her doing what she has done, Dunne has spawned a new generation of copycats. Some have been most successful than others.

Smith, whose gymnastics credentials don’t quite match up to Dunne’s, has been able to go a long way in replicating her social media success.

This week Smith shared a wild video online that immediately went viral.

@sydneyshmityIdek man♬ Why are you ppl using my audio.. – AL

@sydneyshmity🤓♬ CAUSE IS BEAT THAT BOY WIT A BAT – ▫️𝙎𝙮𝙥𝙝𝙚𝙧▫️

Smith only has a fraction of the social media followers that Dunne currently has, but her stock is clearly on the ascent.

Whereas Dunne has benefited from recent viral hits like her provocative photos with an LSU teammate, latest wild hotel room video and memorable Valentine’s Day celebration, Smith has yet to reach that level of notoriety.

Nevertheless, Smith’s posts do great numbers as well.

Big picture, a lot of Smith’s success will also be determined by how good of a gymnast she ends up being.

The interesting thing about Dunne is that for all the hoopla, she is legitimately great on the mats. That is why LSU went on the run it went on following her return from injury.

If she wasn’t as talented, Dunne wouldn’t have the same fan base or platform.

Will Smith be able to give Dunne a true run for her money over the next year and change? Time will tell.
