Christian McCaffrey is one of the most talented running backs in the NFL. Unfortunately, because he has struggled to stay healthy in recent years, he has become far more defined by his off-the-field relationship with model Olivia Culpo than anything he has contributed to the Carolina Panthers.
This past week, McCaffrey and Culpo set out to go on a trip to Cabo.
Sadly, they were immediately met with an unexpected dilemma: Culpo’s outfit was deemed too inappropriate to fly in.

Naturally, debates immediately began on social media regarding whether the airline was in the right to make Culpo cover up. A resolution on that front was not reached.
This entire incident was eerily similar to what happened earlier this year when a female SEC reporter was criticized for her ‘revealing’ choice of outfit during a midseason game. Folks didn’t love that incident either.
Fortunately, McCaffrey and Culpo made it to Cabo as planned despite their unexpected interruption.

Big picture, it will be interesting to see how McCaffrey fares next year. This season was the first one where the Panthers legitimately explored trading him. Given how productive he is when he is healthy and on the field, the fact that the topic was even broached, was telling.
McCaffrey is an incredible talent, but many have taken to wondering whether his intimate relations with Culpo might be contributing to his injury-proneness. The world will never know, obviously – but the guy is always hurt. There needs to be a logical explanation for it.

If McCaffrey ultimately bounces back strong next year and plays up to his potential – all of these conversation will be moot. But if he struggles to stay healthy again in his 2022-23 NFL campaign, expect the trade chatter to grow louder than ever.
