Notre Dame Loses Star After Arrest

Notre Dame lost a star after an arrest this week.

Cornerback Landen Bartleson, a star high school player and three-star 2020 recruit, will not be heading to South Bend.

According to Kentucky CBS news affiliate WKYT, Bartleson was arrested for “burglary, criminal mischief and receiving stolen property.”

Bartleson and two 16-year-olds stand accused of breaking into a business and stealing weapons.

The group was subsequently linked to a car theft.

In response to what transpired, head coach Brian Kelly announced that Bartleson “will no longer be welcome” at his program.

“After reviewing all of the facts available to us and speaking with the Bartleson family, we informed them that Landen will no longer be welcomed as a member of our football program,” Kelly said.

“This incident is very much out of character for the man we have come to know and we wish Landen and his family well.”

It remains to be seen what will happen with Bartleson’s collegiate playing career following this incident. We should get the answer to that in the coming months.
