North Carolina offered a surprising Cole Anthony injury update this week.

Anthony has been out since the start of December with injury, but it appears he is ready to return.

The Tar Heels are currently 3-6 in-conference, so the return of their best player will certainly offer a boost.

Over the course of nine outings this year, Anthony averaged 19.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. That is a lot of production to lose for any team.

Anthony suffered a partially torn meniscus in December and has missed six weeks as a result.

Despite his return getting delayed on multiple occasions, it seems like he is finally ready to come back.

Saturday’s outing versus Boston College will mark Anthony’s comeback.

In an interview with the media, head coach Roy Williams indicated that Anthony will play this weekend.

He is officially listed as “probable” for the outing.

That means barring a setback of some sort, Anthony will suit up and participate in the game.

Anthony will likely be on a minutes restriction of some sort to start, pending a review of how good he is feeling in his return to action.
