Nick Saban Takes Shot At LSU In New Auburn Comments
Nick Saban takes a shot at LSU in his new Auburn comments.
With the College Football Playoff just around the corner, coaches all over are beginning the process of trying to make their case for a postseason berth.
Saban, whose Alabama team currently finds itself at No. 5 in all rankings, knows he only has a limited opportunity to argue his way into the top four.
Heading into Saturday’s big showdown with Auburn, Saban offered a surprising shot at LSU while trying to build up his opponents for this weekend.
Saban on Auburn: “This is the best team we’ve played, probably, so far this year.”

“This is the best team we’ve played, probably, so far this year,” Saban said on Monday.
The obvious flaw with this assessment is that Alabama got beaten handily by an LSU team that remains undefeated to this day, whereas Auburn is 8-3.
Clearly Saban is trying to make the case that Auburn is a tough opponent because he wants a win versus them to catapult his Alabama squad to the College Football Playoff.
Will it work?
We’ll find out soon enough.
But first Alabama actually has to beat Auburn, which at this point is certainly no given.
