XFL Week 2: How To Watch, Reddit Streaming, Full Schedule
The first week of XFL football came and went last weekend. After a two-decade absence, Vince McMahon’s league arrived with a bang.
Overall, ratings for the NFL alternative were very solid and fans seemed happy with what they saw.
The big question now becomes: can the XFL sustain its Week 1 success for the long-term.
You will recall, the first incarnation of the league had an amazing first weekend as well. Then the poor product and weird rules ultimately caught up with it.
The one big thing that the XFL Version 2.0 has going for it is that the storylines are significantly better this time around.
Former Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones being on the DC Defenders is a huge attraction. The Defenders are an early favorite to win the championship thus far.
Houston Roughnecks quarterback P.J. Walker, a former NFL prospect, is equally captivating to watch.
Then of course there are the Los Angeles Wildcats, who somehow made the decision tof ire their defensive quarterback after just one week of action.
If there was so much intrigue coming out of Week 1, it will be interesting to see what Week 2 holds.
The Defenders will square off against one of the XFL’s most formidable defensive units in the New York Guardians, for one. Last week, the Guards sacked Aaron Murray on five separate occasions.
Beyond that, the biggest coaching name in the XFL, Bob Stoops, will look to bounce back from an ugly loss. Stoops reportedly passed on some collegiate openings to coach in this league, so it will be interesting to see how that decision looks a few months from now.
The big marquee showdown in the XFL this weekend will be the Roughnecks squaring off against the St. Louis BattleHawks. That game takes place on Sunday.
