Russell Wilson Honors Kobe Bryant Before Super Bowl
Russell Wilson honored Kobe Bryant before the Super Bowl on Sunday.
The Seattle Seahawks quarterback was one of many celebrities and dignitaries to pay tribute to the fallen Los Angeles Lakers superstar this week.
Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven others died in a helicopter crash in Los Angeles, California, last Sunday.
Wilson appeared on ESPN’s NFL Sunday Countdown this week in preparation for Super Bowl LIV.
Before speaking on the big game ahead, Wilson took a moment to recognize Bryant for his contributions to the sports world.
He did this by wearing a Kobe Bryant #8 Lakers jersey to the interview.

“There’s only a few people in the world in sports that impact and influence the game the way that Kobe has,” Wilson said of Bryant.
“Despite him being gone, he hasn’t left us.”
This past week the Lakers honored Bryant in their first game since their death.
Although LA was unable to emerge victorious against the Portland Trail Blazers in that outing, they won the following night against the Sacramento Kings.
Wilson’s Seattle squad was very close to playing in this Sunday’s game.
Ultimately, the Seahawks fell just short in the NFC Divisional Round against the Green Bay Packers, who would ultimately fall to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game.
