Raiders Offer To Tom Brady Revealed

The Raiders’ offer to Tom Brady was revealed this week.

It is no secret that team owner Mark Davis wants to make a splash in Las Vegas.

Along the same lines, it is also something of a known fact that head coach Jon Gruden is no big fan of current starting quarterback Derrick Carr.

Those two factors mixed together are why some believe that the Raiders will make a very aggressive push to acquire Brady this summer.

Brady enters the offseason as an unrestricted free agent, meaning he can ultimately sign with any team he wants to.

Thus far he has given no indication that he wants to return to the New England Patriots.

According to NFL ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the Raiders are looking to make a big run at the future Hall of Famer.

“The Raiders are poised to pursue quarterback Tom Brady if he doesn’t re-sign with the Patriots before free agency begins, league sources told ESPN,” Schefter wrote.

“Whether the Raiders can lure Brady to Las Vegas, as their quarterback and biggest draw, remains uncertain.

“Patriots owner Robert Kraft has expressed how much he wants Brady to return to New England, and there will be more talks with the team before the free-agent period.”

If the Raiders are serious about ultimately bringing Brady on board, they will need to make some big financial moves.

Current starter, Carr, is owed $18.9 million next season. This Wednesday, a percentage of that will become guaranteed.

If the Raiders are serious about getting Brady this March, the organization can free up a lot of dough by simply cutting Carr.

How much dough?

Roughly $16 million.

Clearly this is all contingent on Brady expressing some sort of desire to play for the Raiders, which up to this point he has not.

Aside from the Raiders, he has also been linked to the Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans, Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins.

Where will Brady ultimately end up? The picture should clear up a bit heading into March.
