Mike Vrabel’s Blunt Response To Stefon Diggs’ Controversial Video

Mike Vrabel's Blunt Response To Stefon Diggs' Controversial Video

Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel has addressed a controversial video featuring wide receiver Stefon Diggs that circulated on social media during Memorial Day weekend. The footage shows Diggs on a yacht with several women, apparently handling an unidentified substance in a baggie. When questioned about the incident during Wednesday’s OTAs, Vrabel emphasized the importance of players making “great decisions” both on and off the field.

“It’s something that we’re aware of. Obviously, we want to make great decisions on and off the field. We’re hoping that with our time on the field today, and when we don’t have a script and we’re on the call periods, that we’re making great decisions,” he said.

“The message will be the same for all our players. We’re trying to make great decisions. Any conversations that I’ve had with Stefon will remain between him and I and the club.”

Notably, Diggs was absent from the team’s OTAs on May 28, 2025. The 31-year-old receiver, who recently signed a lucrative three-year contract with the Patriots worth up to $69 million, has reportedly been in a relationship with musical artist Cardi B. Vrabel confirmed he has spoken directly with Diggs about the matter but stated that their conversation would remain private between the player and the organization.

Stefon Diggs Should Be Patriots’ No. 1 Receiver

The Patriots’ passing game has struggled significantly in recent years. Hunter Henry led the team with modest numbers in 2024, recording just 66 receptions for 674 yards and 2 touchdowns.

New England has experienced a concerning drought at the wide receiver position. The team hasn’t featured a 1,000-yard receiver since Julian Edelman accomplished this feat in 2019, which coincided with Tom Brady’s final season in Foxborough.

Stefon Diggs brings much-needed star power to the Patriots’ receiving corps. With six 1,000-yard seasons on his resume, Diggs possesses the elite talent and proven production the offense desperately needs. His ability to create separation and make contested catches should make him rookie quarterback Drake Maye’s primary target.

While the Patriots have assembled solid complementary pieces in rookie Kyle Williams, third-year receiver DeMario Douglas, and veteran Mack Hollins, none match Diggs’ explosive playmaking ability and route-running precision.
