49ers Star Has Depressing Quote After Chiefs Loss
A 49ers star had a depressing quote after the Chiefs loss on Sunday.
Heading into Super Bowl LIV, everyone agreed that the match-up was a fairly balanced one.
You had arguably the NFL’s best defense squaring off against perhaps its best offense.
Would Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes be able to overcome San Francisco’s potent pass rush?
Or would Niners coach Kyle Shanahan ultimately outmaneuver Andy Reid and Kansas City?
We get our answer to that question when the Chiefs ultimately defeated the 49ers 30-21.
After the outing, Niners offensive tackle Joe Staley spoke to the media and explained just how crushing the defeat was.
“I’m sorry, this is super disappointing. This is very hard being in this moment right now. You put your heart and soul and entire life into trying to be a super bowl champion. You get to the end of your career and you realize how rare these opportunities are.” – Joe Staley

Staley is 35 years old. There is definitely a chance that he will not get to participate in another Super Bowl before his career ends.
That said, Shanahan and the 49ers as a whole are still very young, so there is a good shot that they will be a Super Bowl contender in the NFL for many years to come.
