NFL Referees Blatantly Cheat Steelers Out Of Win vs Patriots

The NFL’s referees were at it again this week during a Thursday Night Football showdown between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots.

By many accounts, this year’s officiating has been some of the worst in league history. Already, there have been incidents of bad calls, referees blatantly mocking players and whatever this was.

And the trend continued on Thursday night.

One particularly egregious sequence that really illustrated how much the referees seemed intent on cheating Pittsburgh out of a win came with just five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

On 4th and 3 with the Steelers down by a field goal, the referees called Steelers long snapper Christian Kuntz for a false start. There was just one problem: he didn’t actually commit the infraction.

All Kuntz did was move his head. That was it. Apparently, in the NFL’s eyes, though – that is a massive penalty-worthy move.

Understandably, fans had some strong reactions:

At some point sooner rather than later, the league is going to need to step in here.

This isn’t about the Steelers or the Patriots. It is bigger than any individual game.

The officiating has gotten absolutely atrocious in the NFL in 2023.

Will the NFL step in and do something about its referees? Time will tell.
