New York Giants Make Surprising Decision

The New York Giants made a surprising decision this week.

On Tuesday, the team announced that it was hiring former Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema for a yet to be determined position.

Bielema has been working with the New England Patriots since 2018, when he was dismissed by the Razorbacks.

After initially starting out as a consultant to Bill Belichick, Bielema was named defensive line coach this past season.

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, new Giants coach Joe Judge has cleared a special place on his staff specifically for Bielema.

Bielema seemingly will not be the defensive line coach since New York already hired Patrick Graham from the Miami Dolphins for that role, so it remains to be seen what specifically he will be doing.

Prior to coming to New England Bielema spent five years at Arkansas.

Before that, he was the head coach at Wisconsin from 2006 to 2012.

An official announcement on Bielema’s specific job should come at some point in the next few days.
