New Orleans Saints Losing Key Star
The New Orleans Saints are losing a key star soon, it is just unclear which one.
Currently the Saints have three strong quarterbacks who are all headed for free agency.
Drew Brees and Teddy Bridgewater are both unrestricted free agents. Taysom Hill is a restricted free agent.
Speaking to the media this week, head coach Sean Payton acknowledged that the likelihood of keeping all these guys is slim.
While Brees is a Saints legend and will likely be kept under any circumstances, retaining Bridgewater will be much more difficult.
In Brees’ absence this season, Bridgewater proved himself to be a very capable quarterback in the NFL. He recorded five consecutive victories and will likely have multiple suitors in free agency.
This is going to be a big summer for New Orleans. Fresh off a disappointing loss to the Minnesota Vikings in the opening round of this year’s playoffs, team management knows that the window to win with Brees is a small one.
Expect the organization to be very active this summer addressing areas of weakness in preparation for a championship run next season.
