New Favorite Emerges As Next Dallas Cowboys Coach

A new favorite emerged as the next Dallas Cowboys coach.

Heading into the offseason, the names most often mentioned as potential candidates to replace Jason Garrett were Urban Meyer and Lincoln Riley.

Although both men were collegiate coaches, they carried the sort of name recognition and “splash value” that team owner Jerry Jones enjoyed.

As it turns out, though, a new favorite has seemingly emerged to take the reigns.

According to Fox NFL insider Jay Glazer, the Cowboys walked away feeling very good about their interview with former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy.

Glazer noted that the interview went “very well” and that it was so successful that McCarthy remained in Dallas after the fact.

The Cowboys will likely interview a far more people before making a final decision, but McCarthy’s strong interview bodes well for him.

Unlike most of the other potential candidates, McCarthy brings with him a Super Bowl ring and experience at the highest level of the NFL.

  1. Saints fans are just pissed because they lost in the 1st round like they did last year. Interesting they are whining about the same thing they did last year. I feel sorry for Drew Brees, but not the rest of the crybabies in Louisiana. Minnesota whipped their ass, case closed.
