New Angle Of Chris Paul’s Dirty Play on Pelicans’ Jose Alvarado

New Angle Of Chris Paul’s Dirty Play on Pelicans’ Jose Alvarado

The New Orleans Pelicans once again defeated the Phoenix Suns this past Sunday, earning an impressive 129-124 overtime victory.

It marked the second time in two games that New Orleans prevailed over the squad that knocked them out of last year’s playoffs.

As was the case two days earlier, the Pelicans’ victory didn’t come without controversy.

Suns guard Chris Paul is known for being a dirty player, but he really took things to a new level against Jose Alvarado on Sunday.

Alvarado has been nursing injured ribs for a while now, and Paul decided to take full advantage:

As if targeting Alvarado’s ribs wasn’t bad enough, Paul also clocked him once in the jaw for good measure:

It goes without saying that Paul’s reputation exists for a reason. Nobody is safe from his antics, including LeBron James. The two had a brief beef after Paul attempted to seriously injure him during a Lakers-Suns game.

They’re over it now, but the fact that Paul doesn’t even show mercy to his close buddies is telling.

As far as the Pelicans go – they don’t care. They feel like they’re a squad on the come-up while the Suns are on the decline.

Brandon Ingram, in particular, had an especially harsh message for Phoenix players after their first game.

And given how this most recent outing went, it’s safe to assume that no fresh love has developed between all sides involved.

Will the Suns and Pelicans get the opportunity to settle their beef in the playoffs?

Time will tell.
