Trae Young’s Blunt Response To Hawks Considering Trading Him
Trae Young led the Atlanta Hawks to a big win over the Miami Heat on Tuesday night.
With it, they earned the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs and will now aim to make a run akin to the one they went on a couple of years ago.
That said, clearly the relationship between Young and the Hawks’ front office has become a little frazzled.
This week reports surfaced that the organization was open to trading him away under the right circumstances.

“I’m told the Hawks are continuing to closely monitor Trae Young’s day-to-day commitments and his habits on a day-to-day basis on the floor and off the floor and what Trae Young is willing to do to be a leader,” Shams Charania reported.
“Clearly, there have been continued question marks around that organization. … There will be conversations between Trae Young’s camp and the Hawks and their ownership.”
Young came out shortly thereafter and gave his thoughts on the news.
“It could be false, could be true, you never know,” Young told Joe Vardon of The Athletic. “It’s hard – you can’t look at it. Especially as the player in the moment, you can’t look at what’s gonna come next year.
“After the game, if the game doesn’t go your way tonight, what’s gonna happen? Like, you can’t focus on things like that. That messes up your head and then you’re not ready to play so, me, I’m not worried about that.
“I’m gonna let my game play. After the season, whatever happens, happens. I mean, I’m focused on the next task at hand. I can’t worry about the outside noise or whatever fake stories come out, or what’s true, whatever.”

Over the past few months rumblings have emerged that, if Atlanta does deal Young, there are four frontrunners out there for his services.
A lot will obviously depend on this season’s playoff run, though. If the Hawks advance far – Young is likely staying with the organization long-term.
Should they collapse in the first round, then the Hawks actually trading Young away becomes far likelier.
