The Phoenix Suns defeated the Dallas Mavericks 110-80 on Tuesday night. In doing so, they took a commanding 3-2 series lead in their best-of-seven Western Conference semifinals showdown.
Because of how much was on the line in this one the outing quickly turned chippy. At one point late in the affair Mavericks forward Marquese Chriss followed Suns big man Bismack Biyombo off the court and through the tunnel after they were ejected.
And the tension wasn’t just limited to the role players. Mavs and Suns stars also got in on it.
Devin Booker openly mocked Luka Doncic and his propensity for flopping during one particular sequence:

The bad blood wouldn’t end there, though. A clearly irritated Doncic also lobbed a two-word insult at Booker at a different point after becoming exasperated with his behavior:
“Come on, man… Pu**y ass”

“Pu**y ass,” Doncic said.
After the game, Doncic was still feeling some type of way about how things had gone. This video captured of him walking into the locker room encapsulates his attitude regarding all that transpired on Tuesday night:
“Everybody acting tough when they up.”
– Luka.

It will be interesting to see how this outing progresses from here on out. Clearly tensions are running very high. And Doncic is feeling the heat. His response to Chris Paul and Lil Wayne speaks for itself.
This has slowly morphed into the most fascinating series in the second round thus far. Between the issues involving Paul’s family and then the hoopla surrounding Doncic’s mom, it has been one thing after another.

Based on Tuesday’s end result, it feels like the Suns are firmly in control – but things can change on a dime in this league.
Will the Mavericks be able to regain some semblance of momentum and force a Game 7 against Phoenix?
Time will tell.
