Kobe Bryant’s Blunt Message About Michael Jordan Comparisons

Kobe Bryant’s Blunt Message About Michael Jordan Comparisons

Ever legendary NBA player before and after Michael Jordan has been compared to him.

Some have embraced it, like LeBron James, while others have shied away.

Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant, who many believe was the closest thing to Jordan the league had ever seen, took a unique perspective on the matter.

He shared it in a memorable interview.

“I will never say I am better than Michael,” Bryant said.

“In all honesty, he taught me so many things, by observation, and also through conversation. It’s a bit of an unbalanced comparison too, because when he came to Chicago, he was able to do things individually that I didn’t have the freedom to do, coming to Los Angeles.

“I came in playing a support role for Shaquille [O’Neal], which was very hard for my personality to do. That would be like asking Michael to do the same thing. Our careers tracked on different paths, but I would never ever say that, just because I learned so much from him.”

Bryant is an icon in the sport of basketball. Because of his premature passing, any time fans get a window into his thought process or mentality it is truly a treat.

It doesn’t matter whether it is Pau Gasol revealing the first time he saw Bryant cry, Bryant himself addressing the greatest defender he had ever seen or him breaking down the two things he loved to do more than scoring.

All the insight is a legitimate treat.

Same for this look into how he genuinely felt about the comparison to Jordan.

What fun tidbits about Bryant will emerge in the coming months and years?

An answer will emerge soon enough.
