Adrian Wojnarowski Reveals Latest On Lakers’ Dejounte Murray Pursuit
The Los Angeles Lakers have been hovering around .500 for weeks.
Because of that, as the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline looms, most expect them to at least try and make a big move.
The player most closely linked to L.A. in recent days has been Dejounte Murray of the Atlanta Hawks. The Lakers’ most recent offer for him is a matter of public record. As is the one roadblock that has thus far prevented a deal from getting done.
This week, during the most recent ‘Woj Pod’ episode, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski revealed where the Lakers stand in regards to acquiring Murray.
“Rob Pelinka is going to keep trying, I know he’ll keep working until Thursday and I think there’s still conversations to be had on Dejounte Murray,” Wojnarowski said.
“I think there’s a price point for LA and I think they’re going to wait and see. They don’t want to put Austin Reaves in a deal. Atlanta’s asked for Austin Reaves.
“I would be shocked if Austin Reaves was in a Dejounte Murray deal, I just don’t see it. Really in any deal for them given who’s available out there.”
Just a few days ago, one of the most plugged-in NBA insiders around seemed to suggest that Murray-to-Los Angeles was going to happen. That seems to be an odd limb to go out on if you aren’t fairly certain in your sources.
As recently as last week the Lakers were linked to a possible 4-team trade that would net them Murray.

But obviously nothing has materialized thus far.
With the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline occurring this Thursday, either way, an answer will reveal itself on how far Los Angeles is willing to go here.
Will Murray be a member of the Lakers come this time next week? Time will tell.
