Anthony Edwards Involved In New Controversy

Anthony Edwards, the Minnesota Timberwolves NBA star, finds himself embroiled in controversy following accusations from Ayesha Howard, who claims he removed a condom during their intimate encounter without her consent. This allegation emerged in court documents filed by Howard in response to Edwards’ legal team suggesting she deliberately conceived their child against his wishes by tracking her menstrual cycle.

The child in question was born in October 2024, and Edwards’ paternity has been confirmed through DNA testing. Howard initiated a paternity suit in California, while Edwards contends that the case should be handled in Georgia, where Howard allegedly resides. His attorneys argue that Howard filed in California strategically to secure more favorable child support terms.

Text messages included in Howard’s filing appear to show a conversation where she questioned Edwards about removing the condom. When asked if he disliked condoms, Edwards allegedly responded, “I do but not those ones.” Howard also shared what she claims are messages in which Edwards urged her to terminate the pregnancy.

This situation isn’t isolated, as Howard represents at least the third woman to make similar claims against the 23-year-old basketball player. In 2023, another woman accused Edwards of pressuring her to get an abortion, which prompted him to issue a public statement after screenshots of their conversation surfaced online.

Additionally, a third woman took to social media last year accusing Edwards of being an absent father, sharing what she claimed were text exchanges between herself and the three-time All-Star.

Despite these personal controversies, Edwards’ professional career continues to flourish. The Timberwolves have advanced to the Western Conference Finals for the second consecutive year after defeating the Golden State Warriors in five games. Edwards has demonstrated strong performance in the playoffs, averaging 26.5 points across 10 games.

The ongoing legal disputes between Edwards and Howard involve multiple jurisdictions including California and Georgia, with issues of child support and custody likely to be determined as the case progresses.
