The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Dallas Mavericks 107-104 in overtime on Wednesday night.
It was a hard-fought affair that ultimately came down to a timely Austin Reaves game-winner.
Austin Reaves’ success perfectly illustrates the benefits of entering the NBA w/ experience. He played 3,000 NCAA minutes in multiple roles: spot shooter next to Landry Shamet & primary ball handler @ Oklahoma. Adaptable. Has taken big shots. While Reaves’ jumper was incredible and he deserves all the credit in the world for it, his shot wasn’t the most amazing part of that sequence.
Rather, the best part of that entire play was what Lakers veteran Rajon Rondo did.
The video speaks for itself:

Rondo, as per usual, has zero chill.
You will recall, Rondo has something of a checkered past as it pertains to Dallas. He played there at one point and things got so bad between him, the players and coaches that by the end of that run both sides allegedly made up an injury to excuse benching him and his teammates later refused to give him a playoff share.

In that vein, it’s easy to understand why there’s little love between Rondo and the Mavericks.
Rondo obviously marches to the beat of his own drum, as his incredible Halloween costume from this year makes apparent. As such, it should come as no surprise that also has no reservations about dancing on the grave of a team he has little affection for.
