The Phoenix Suns defeated the Dallas Mavericks 129-109 on Wednesday night.
With that victory Phoenix took a commanding 2-0 series lead in their best-of-seven Western Conference semifinals showdown.
Suns point guard Chris Paul was spectacular in the outing, going 11-of-16 from the floor to score 28 points. In the second half alone, he went 9-of-10 from the field.
It wasn’t all positives for Paul coming out of the game, though. After the fact, a segment of fans couldn’t help but accuse him of playing dirty on one particular sequence.
The video largely speaks for itself:
Did CP3 just grab his arm to draw an offensive foul? pic.twitter.com/UeFO4QgnNS

This is the exact reason no one wants to see that man get a ring. This bs isn’t even basketball, just blantent foul baiting. https://t.co/9PHf9O4e4l

This isn’t the first time Paul has found himself at the center of these sorts of accusations. Some even wondered if perhaps he would get suspended during the Suns’ first round series against the New Orleans Pelicans over one particular play.
Of course, he didn’t.
People may not like the way Paul does some of the things he ultimately does, but it’s up to the officials and league to police it. If they don’t – there’s not much anyone can do.
Yikes. https://t.co/Qb80qV5k0w

Paul will keep doing things the way he has his entire career, for better or worse.
Will that put his squad in a position to finally win that elusive championship this season? Time will tell.
