Nate Diaz’s wife, Misty Brown, found herself in the headlines this week amid her husband’s fight with Jake Paul.
Although Diaz and Brown are notoriously private about their personal lives, the sheer magnitude of Saturday night’s bout between Diaz and Paul has changed that to some degree.
Shortly before Diaz’s showdown with Paul, Brown started to go viral.
Specifically, photos of Brown and details about her relationship with Diaz began to captivate social media.
Diaz and Brown have been together for 15 years, according to the New York Times. The pair met at Salas Park in Lodi, California, where she was a cheerleader and he was playing football at the time.
“He was always running laps,” she told The Times. “Even then he was getting in trouble.”
The two have been together ever since. And while Brown makes it a point to stay out of the limelight, she does make an exception to that rule when it comes time to defend her beau.
Specifically from people who think that Diaz’s tough-nosed public persona resembles what he is like privately.
“It’s wrong that he comes off as the middle finger mean guy that you can’t have a conversation with, when deep down inside he’s one of the most passionate people I’ve met,” Brown told the New York Times.
“There’s the portrayal of him on TV, and when people meet him they say, oh, he’s not mean at all.”
Brown also made it a point to reenforce an idea the Diaz brothers have preached for more than a decade: they don’t actually enjoy fighting. It is just something they do.
“It’s just something he knows how to do,” Brown confirmed.
Diaz and Brown have two kids together: 4-year-old Nikayla Diaz and a child born in 2022 whose name is not publicly known.

Both Diaz and Paul are set to make eight figures for their fight.
The two men are 50-50 partners in the operation, ensuring a big payday for all.

It was one of the main drivers that led to Diaz ditching the UFC in favor of this particular match.
Win or lose, Diaz and Brown are going to leave the Paul fight far richer than they came into it. And that’s great news for the happy couple and their family no matter what.
