The mom of a Clemson star got death threats from LSU fans.

Donnetta Etienne, mom of Clemson star running back Travis Etienne, revealed that she has been getting death threats in the lead-up to the National Championship Game.

Etienne took to Twitter this week to make the troubling revelation.

“We from Louisiana,” she wrote.

“We are getting all kind of threats. Sad but true. God is in control. Nothing can penetrate the blood of Jesus. We are blessed!!”

Etienne also spoke to the Greenville News regarding the matter, confirming what she had early posted to Twitter.

“One person said we had less than 24 hours to get out of Louisiana. I didn’t take it serious, I just got off social media,” she said.

“LSU fans are kind of over the top. We have nothing against LSU; it’s not LSU, it’s LSU fans. They have a big desire for LSU to win the game.

“The only thing I didn’t like about it is it’s not Travis playing LSU, it’s Clemson playing LSU. But LSU fans started going crazy and we haven’t even played the game yet.”

Etienne lives just outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Interestingly enough, LSU head coach Ed Orgeron recently expressed his disgust at how the school botched Travis Etienne’s recruitment back when he was an assistant coach.

That inability to sign him means that Orgeron will now be tasked with the unenviable job of having to defend him when Clemson plays LSU for the National Title.

  1. It’s pretty bad when other team fans start making death threats to other team players’ moms or family! We all understand that it is for the Championships, but also you’re there to play, do your best and have fun. You’re an adult how about acting like an adult. I’m a Die Hard Clemson Fan 100% #ALLIN#GO TIGERS! But you don’t hear threats come from anyone else or any other teams out there. There are underage children out there also that reads and watches tv so just think of the example that you set for this younger generation. They’re going to grow up thinking WOW let’s just send threatening letters or threatening phone calls that will scare them and settle it. NOT! Stop being HATEFUL and stand strong and be there for the players. It’s not about you!
God Bless and Good Luck!! GO TIGERS🐅🧡 ALL IN
