Minnesota Vikings Announce Coaching Change

The Minnesota Vikings announced a coaching change this week.

More specifically, the organization revealed several coaching adjustments that will take place heading into the looming 2020 NFL season.

Gary Kubiak has been brought on board to serve as the team’s new offensive coordinator.

Beyond that, assistant defensive line coach Andre Patterson and linebackers coach Adam Zimmer have been named co-defensive coordinators. Both men will also retain their prior coaching responsibilities.

Adam Zimmer, of course, is the son of team head coach Mike Zimmer.

Back on January 23, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport was the first to report that Minnesota was considering Kubiak for the new role and dividing up the defensive coordinator responsibilities.

His reporting ultimately proved to be correct.

The Vikings also moved assistant offensive line coach Andrew Janocko to wide receivers coach.

On top of that, former Cincinnati Bengals and Miami Dolphins coach Daronte Jones was named defensive backs coach.

Also, ex-Washington Redskins and Denver Broncos coach Phil Rauscher was named assistant offensive line coach.
