Mike McCarthy has a special message for Cowboys fans.

That message? Get ready for a Super Bowl run.

This past Wednesday Jerry Jones held a special introductory press conference for McCarthy to officially name him the new Cowboys head coach.

McCarthy was clearly excited to hit the ground running, and he acknowledged that he realized what sort of expectations came with his job.

“To the fans, the commitment will be unwavering,” he said.

“I won my first Super Bowl here in North Texas at AT&T Stadium. And I just want to tell you, I’m anxious and excited to get to work on winning the next Super Bowl for the Dallas Cowboys. It’s a thrill to be here.”

Dallas is coming off an underwhelming 2019 campaign. Despite a lot of talent on both sides of the ball and a career year from quarterback Dak Prescott, the team finished 8-8 and did not make the playoffs.

Jason Garrett, who served as the Cowboys’ head coach for the better part of the last decade, was not brought back.

It remains to be seen how McCarthy will do in Dallas, but his record with the Green Bay Packers was undeniably impressive. If he is able to achieve similar success  with the Cowboys, fans will likely end up being very happy with their new head coach.
