Mike Krzyzewski Responds To Duke Beating North Carolina

Mike Krzyzewski responded to Duke beating North Carolina in epic fashion on Saturday night.

This weekend, the Blue Devils and Tar Heels squared off in a showdown for the ages. Although most expected the pair’s game to be a dud given how poorly North Carolina has played in 2020, the exact opposite happened.

For about 85 percent of the outing, the Tar Heels absolutely took it to Krzyzewski’s squad. Unfortunately, at the end of the game, North Carolina kind of fell apart.

Despite having a 13-point lead with four minutes to go, Roy Williams’ squad somehow blew it and ended falling to Duke in overtime 98-96.

After the fact, Krzyzewski called the outing “an incredible” one and could not stop raving about the performances both programs brought to the table.

“Absolutely incredible game,” he said.

“To have an incredible game means you have great performances by both teams and Carolina was outstanding. I thought they were going to run us out of the gym; their crowd was great.

“I don’t know what’s happened [to them] the whole year, but they were Carolina tonight. They were fantastic,” he continued.

“Proud of my guys. Terrific win for us and I know it’s tough for them. I thought they played great, not good, they played great and Cole is every bit as good as everyone has said he is. He was a big-time player tonight.”

With the victory the Blue Devils moved to 20-3 on the year, while the Tar Heels fell to 10-13.
