The New York Mets are 28-15 on the year and currently sit atop the NL East.

With a comfortable eight game advantage over the second-place Philadelphia Phillies, everyone involved with the organization is understandably feeling good right now.

Case in point: relief pitcher Drew Smith.

This past week, in honor of the 2022 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue release, the Mets invited a number of the participating models to visit.

One in particular caught Smith’s eye, and he didn’t hesitate to shoot his shot.

The model in question, Cindy Kimberly, saw the message and responded accordingly:

You love to see it. Everything is coming up Mets so far this year. It’s truly impressive.

Kimberly, for the uninitiated, is a model who boasts nearly 7 million followers on Instagram. She routinely blows up online for posts like this:

Smith, meanwhile, is a 28-year-old stud who has recorded a 1.53 ERA through his first 17.2 innings of work. They are a match made in heaven.

Love has been in the air so far in this young MLB season. Between Justin Verlander’s spicy response to Kate Upton’s provocative photos, Shohei Ohtani’s love life coming under scrutiny and now this – it has been one thing after another.

Will Smith and the Mets be able to keep this impressive hot streak going?

Time will tell.
