Meghan Markle and her husband, Harry, attended a recent NBA playoff showdown between the Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies.
The pair made quite an impression with their behavior at the outing.

One thing that really caused some commotion after the fact was Markle’s choice of attire to the game. It led to something of an unexpected debate regarding its appropriateness.

“Meghan Markle’s ‘inappropriate’ NBA outfit was ‘frumpy [and] crumpled,’” The Sun wrote.
“Meghan doesn’t seem to know what to wear to a basketball match,” stylist Tavia Sharp told The U.S. Sun.
“Her pink linen suit would’ve been more suitable for a high-end polo match or a posh daytime event outside. This didn’t suit a basketball game and was totally out of context. Meghan also knew she’d have cameras on her and that she’d be in the VIP box.
“Like Kim [Kardashian], she would’ve been preparing to have her and Harry’s photos taken, but it just feels like what she wore was inappropriate. Even when Beyonce goes to games, she’ll dress more casually. Still in high fashion brands, but it’s definitely more laid back,” she continued.
“It could’ve worked if Meghan had worn jeans and a nice top. This all feels too bright for a basketball game.”
Brutal stuff. Jordyn Woods’ memorable outfit to a recent NBA playoff game seems to have been much better received. Maybe Markle should take some notes from her.
Markle’s fashion choices aside, the Lakers did win that particular outing – only to lose the next one in Memphis.
So maybe Markle was something of a lucky charm for the squad.

As things presently stand, L.A. holds a 3-2 lead in their best-of-seven series with the proceedings returning to Los Angeles on Friday night.
If the Lakers win, they advance to the second round. Should they lose, all the pressure will be on them to win in Game 7 over the weekend.
Will Markle be in attendance if a Game 7 does prove to be necessary for the Lakers? Time will tell.
