McKayla Maroney’s Wild Instagram Story Photos Go Viral
McKayla Maroney is one of the most prominent U.S. women’s gymnastics stars of her generation.
In 2012, Maroney was a standout figure from the now-infamous “Fierce Five” group at the London Games. There she accomplished not one, but two extremely remarkable things.
From a gymnastics perspective, Maroney captured a gold medal in the team event and a silver in the vault. It was incredibly impressive.
But what was even more surprising was the way Maroney was able to turn herself into a viral superstar. And not only did she emerge as one from those Olympics, but she has remained one to this day more than a decade later.
To date, Maroney has amassed more than 1.4 million followers on Instagram. Any time she posts anything online, it immediately spreads like wildfire. And it was more of the same this week, when a series of her Instagram Stories went mega-viral:
It’s easy to see why Maroney has set the internet ablaze. And this isn’t the first time in recent days where she has done this. Between her provocative poolside video, racy Valentine’s day post and pretty much any other type of content she puts out, it feels like it’s one thing after another with her.
She is a legitimate star in every sense of the word.

Big picture, a lot of people think being an influencer akin to Maroney is easy. Her former teammate, Aly Raisman, tried to do something comparable.
But they just didn’t hit the same.
