McKayla Maroney is one of the most respected gymnasts of her generation.
As a foundational member of the “Fierce Five” at the 2012 Olympic Games, Maroney etched her name into the record books with a gold medal in the team event and silver medal in the individual vault event.
Beyond just enjoying immense success on the mats, though – she entered the cultural zeitgeist like few athletes in her sport have shown the propensity to.
As a result, Maroney continues to be just as relevant in 2022 as she was in her heyday as a gymnast a decade ago.

Maroney has really paved the way for a lot of young athletes. These days being an influencer seems like a common path. But when she was doing it, social media wasn’t as big of a thing.
