Matthew Stafford’s Wife Kelly Has Blunt Message For Richard Sherman

Matthew Stafford’s Wife Kelly Has Blunt Message For Richard Sherman

Fresh off leading the Los Angeles Rams to the Super Bowl this season, quarterback Matthew Stafford has found himself at the center of an intense debate.

Is he now a Hall of Famer?

Surefire future Hall of Fame corner Richard Sherman poured gasoline on the fire this week when he offered his two cents on the matter.

“I’m gonna talk about it on the podcast but the HOF bar is incredibly low now,” he tweeted regarding Stafford. “Like a participation trophy. No all decade team. No All pro. No MVP. 1 Pro bowl. Not even MVP of the SB.

“Never considered the best in any year he played. At least [Matt] Ryan has an MVP.”

One person who didn’t take kindly to that critique? Matthew’s wife – Kelly.

She offered a fiery response to Sherman on one of her Instagram stories:

This isn’t the first time in recent days that Kelly has gone viral. A few days back, she also blew up at the Super Bowl for a variety of her posts. And then of course there is her documentation of her husband’s celebrations:

There is a fair argument to be had regarding Matthew’s Hall of Fame credentials. Working in his favor is the fact that he ranks 12th in NFL history with 49,995 passing yards and now has a Super Bowl win. On the other hand, all of Sherman’s points are valid.

That being said, one can’t blame Kelly for being defensive. Her passionate response to her husband even reaching the Super Bowl speaks volumes. She is as loyal as they come. You love to see it. Especially since the pair has definitely experienced some trials and tribulations in the past.

Time will tell whether Matthew will ultimately make it into the Hall of Fame. But in the meantime, the debate regarding his worthiness will rage on.
