Matt Pryor Will Replace Brandon Brooks For Eagles After ACL Tear
Matt Pryor will step in and replace Brandon Brooks for the Philadelphia Eagles after the right guard’s ACL tear.
Brooks made the announcement of his injury official on Twitter late Monday afternoon.
“So I guess now that news is out yes I tore my other Achilles but when life gives you lemons you make lemonade,” he wrote.
“I’ll be back and better than ever. Appreciate the love.”
The 30-year-old Brooks just signed a deal last November guaranteeing him $30 million, so he can at least take solace in that during this tough time.
As for who Philly will replace him with – the answer is clear.
Pryor played right guard in the Eagles’ playoff defeat at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks and did a decent job in the role. The TCU product has all of the natural physical skills to be a force, it is just a question of whether he will be able to put them together under pressure on a consistent basis.
Philly was held in high esteem heading into next season, so it will be interesting to see what impact this latest injury has on their championship odds.
