Manchester United Offers Harry Maguire Take Before Brighton Match

Manchester United offered a Harry Maguire take before Tuesday’s Brighton showdown.

Team manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer noted that Maguire is getting better and better with each outing, and suggested that the Manchester United captain has more than earned his keep following last year’s move from Leicester.

The transition to Manchester United came with a $98 million price tag, but the 27-year-old has been worth every penny.

Maguire has participated in 44 outings for Manchester United this year. In that span, he has accumulated three scores and played tremendous defense along with Victor Lindelof.

Most recently, he led Manchester United to a 2-1 win over Norwich this past weekend.

“I think his performances on the pitch say it all,” Solskjaer said.

“He’s become club captain, he’s a leader and he’s chipping in with goals, so I’m very happy with Harry.”

It will ultimately be interesting to see how Manchester United fares against Brighton on Tuesday. The club is currently on a 14-outing streak, but a quick turnaround always presents certain dangers.

“You can discuss other teams and say they have 24 hours more recovery and blah blah blah, but it doesn’t fit into my thinking,” Solskjaer said.

“As soon as you sign for Man United you should be ready to play up to 60 games a season with a game every three or four days.”

Manchester United and Brighton will square off at noon on Tuesday. Barring catastrophe, it should be one of the best matches of the week.
