Malika Andrews’ 2023 NBA Draft Take Sparks Controversy (Video)

The 2023 NBA Draft lottery took place on Tuesday night, and Malika Andrews served at the helm of the coverage for ESPN.

It is widely accepted that Victor Wembanyama will go to the San Antonio Spurs with the first overall pick, but who the Charlotte Hornets will take at number two is something of a mystery.

It could be Brandon Miller out of Alabama, or it could it may be G-League standout Scoot Henderson.

During the broadcast, Andrews brought up the fact that Miller was involved in a controversy where he stood accused of supplying his teammate with a gun that was allegedly used in a fatal shooting.

Fans didn’t appreciate Andrews referencing Miller’s off-the-court issue from this past season in the moment.

Regardless of how anyone feels about Andrews’ take on this particular issue, there is no denying that she often makes headlines.

Between her saucy ESPN romance, handsy encounter with a co-worker at the Worldwide Leader and the drama surrounding her salary compared to that of Stephen A. Smith’s, it has been one thing after another with her.

This most recent brouhaha is just par for the course.

Will the backlash she received over the Miller comments influence Andrews’ coverage of the 2023 NBA Draft going forward? An answer one way or the other will emerge soon enough.
