Madison Bumgarner is Signing With LA Dodgers

Madison Bumgarner is signing with the LA Dodgers, that much is now clear.

Bumgarner’s history with the San Francisco Giants’ biggest rivals speaks for itself. He absolutely hated Yasiel Puig and has had beef with Max Muncy.

After 11 seasons with the Giants, getting the Dodger hate out of his system might be tough.

That being said, rumors are heating up that Bumgarner might be LA-bound.

“Dodgers will now shift their focus to free-agent left-hander Madison Bumgarner,” tweeted out The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal on Wednesday.

Dodgers pitcher Clay Kershaw recently threw gasoline on the flames when he said that he would love to have Bumgarner on the team if the organization opts to bring him in.

“I love Bum, he said.

“If we signed him, that’d be great.”

Last year Bumgarner posted a 3.90 ERA –the worst of his entire career.

On the flip side, he is a fantastic postseason pitcher, so he might be just the Kershaw antidote LA needs come playoff time.

For his career, the 30-year-old has pitched in 1,846 regular season innings and 102 postseason innings.

Last season, he made 34 starts.

Will the Dodgers ultimately be able to steal Bumgarner away from the Giants? It is beginning to look that way.
