The Los Angeles Lakers are making a notable change to their uniforms for the coming 2020-21 NBA season.
In an effort to pay homage to past success and the franchise’s move to LA, the organization has opted for a special “classic” option.
Over the weekend, two fans revealed the new-look jerseys that they stumbled across.

As mock-ups of what the uniforms will look like in 2020-21 began to emerge, so did fan opinions. Needless to say – they were mixed.
The Lakers plan on rocking these classic jerseys in 2021. 🔥🔥 pic.twitter.com/8mELGXmUK9

Do I like this jersey being part of the Lakers’ rotation? Yes, I do.
Do I like the fact this will be the potential SIXTH UNIFORM in their uniform set?
Heck no. This is getting out of hand. Feels like we’re heading towards a completely different jersey every game. 😂

I like the jerseys – but shouldn’t there be a little bit of purple and gold in there somewhere?

That looks awesome.
Makes me want to see a Brooklyn Dodgers inspired Nets jersey at some point.

I don’t want us to end up like the Jazz and Nuggets fans where I don’t even know what the damn team colors are on a week to week basis.

Those are clean, but kinda want to see the old MPLS jerseys make a comeback too

For the uninitiated, the Lakers wore this sort of blue design for a seven-year stretch in the 1960s. From there they would go on to switch to the colors that fans have associated the franchise with ever since.
Fans deserve the truth. https://t.co/RiUv9jc7V4

An official announcement regarding the new look uniforms will likely come at some point in the next few months.
